Fried Chicken+My Hilarious Mistake

Dude, seriously. More like your cooking life, though. I had been afraid to make fried chicken for sooo long because every time I did it, it did not work out! Me and my mom tried it over and over but we would burn it, the flour wouldn't stick, we'd forget the salt or not know what seasonings to use, and man would it be disappointing! But really, who wants to spend 2 hours making something wrong, and resulting in an over-greasy, burnt, not-worth-the-unhealthy ingredients dinner?!? We had even tried the dried mashed potatoes thing, but why do we have to go through such an effort and use strange ingredients just to make something so many people can do in a heartbeat? Pumpkin Streusel Bundt Cake

I couldn't stop eating this, so I quickly portioned out pieces to send home with my guests after we all ate our share. Of course, they loved it. Why? It wasn't so sweet that a vegan could only eat one square inch before launching into a diabetic coma! Originally, the recipe was only lightly dusted with a fraction of a teaspoon of powdered sugar. And you know, that ain't gonna cut it for me! I knew it wouldn't be as tasty without some other flavor and texture to top it with. Therefore, I made a streusel. It was different from ones I had made before, because you used melted butter and then mixed it in the already-warm pan that you heated it with. What? Tried it anyway. Queen of Ethiopia Braids

I had a lot of fun doing this hairstyle on Aziza. She remained me of an african queen (yea, in American clothes...ha ha). It was pretty easy because you are braiding in the flow of hair, which is down. It didn't loosen up or frizz nearly as bad either. The one disadvantage was that all the braids were pulling on one area on her head so scabbed up a bit there. I've seen this exact hairstyle, but they solve that problem by not starting all the braids in one area. I always thought it was just to elaborate, but now I know it was just practicality. This style is pretty self-explanatory, but here's how I did it: Wash, brush, moisturize and prepare the hair for braiding. Pick your center point and start from there. Part your sections however big you want and braid out. Once you have finished, braid the braids into a circle around the head immediately. Feel free to use ribbons and extensions, you can do some cute things with them!

Moisture Stick DIY

This guy is a lot like those sunscreen sticks you see during sunburn season. My moisture stick goes on much smoother though, and has a different purpose. Nobody likes dry skin, especially when it comes in little patches on your hands or face. The whole reason I made this was by request of my dad. He has one, bright, red, patch of annoying eczema on his face in between his eyes and beard. Why couldn't it just hide itself somewhere under the legions of hair?!? Anyway, spur-of-the moment he asked me to make something for it that he could apply really easily and had all-natural ingredients. He isn't too happy about putting gobs of chemically scented and colored "moisturizers" mostly consisting of toxic unpronounceable poisons. Applying something too fragranced wasn't an option either because it was right next to his eyeball and extremely sensitive and picky nose. No essential oils in this one, uh-uh! Downtown Chicago Pictures+Touring German Cousin Around...

Just recently, my cousin came to stay with us from Germany and it's been a blast! We've done a lot of photography together but I think the best so far is from downtown Chicago. Normally, I pictures of mostly nature and food. But recently, I got inspired from my friends instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/yaya_vast/ She takes AMAZING photos of the city! Anyways, we went downtown with my cousin to show her some cool Chicago and I was like... Time for camera action. And I took that. A lot of times I feel like the city is so ugly why would I want to take a freakin' picture of it? But, I realized it was time to embrace were I live. Those towers were so weird and cool I just couldn't resist. Cars were parked in those little cubby areas farther down the building. What a view to come home to and look out of your garage at!
