Cocoa Butter Moisturizer DIY

Image
I've made a lotion tutorial before, which you can see  here , but honestly, it wasn't really lotion! It was more of whipped butter. I guess a lot of the lotion DIY's out there were more of that texture though, so it wasn't like I was misguiding anybody. This time, I tried a butter. With skin butters, the whole idea is that you whip oils already called butters (shea, mango, etc.) with a non-solid oil like almond, olive, or avocado. However, depending on the amounts and ingredients, you'll get different textures. The one that I made is more solid because cocoa butter is so hard. Actually, a good improvement to the recipe would be to add twice the amount of almond oil. However, as soon as it hits the skin, this body butter goes on smoother ever. It feels so amazing you can't even believe it's real! Being much less messy and complicated, this is a better recipe than my other one for beginners. Basically, you melt, chill, and whip. Let's get ...

5 Foods to Get You Un-Constipated NATURALLY

Image
Let me just warn ya'll ahead a time, this is a pretty disgusting topic. If poop just grosses or embarrasses you out too much, don't read this, because there will be major excrement TMI going on here! One more thing, I'll be doing my best to use synonyms of our waste method, as to not constantly be giving you an image of the poop emoji. If you have an issue of being constipated, and want to relieve it naturally, you're going to have to change your whole way of eating and drinking. It's not just like take these certain supplements and BOOM it's gone! It's way worth it though, because this can change more things than just pooping. Your whole digestive tract will thank you! The chance of getting colon cancer or diabetes will go way down, along with reducing stomach pain, bloating, obesity, and many other ailments that go along eating the wrong things. Here's the science of it in a nutshell: you need a good ratio of water and fiber. The rough fiber cl...

Moisture Stick DIY

Image
This guy is a lot like those sunscreen sticks you see during sunburn season. My moisture stick goes on much smoother though, and has a different purpose. Nobody likes dry skin, especially when it comes in little patches on your hands or face. The whole reason I made this was by request of my dad. He has one, bright, red, patch of annoying eczema on his face in between his eyes and beard. Why couldn't it just hide itself somewhere under the legions of hair?!? Anyway, spur-of-the moment he asked me to make something for it that he could apply really easily and had all-natural ingredients. He isn't too happy about putting gobs of chemically scented and colored "moisturizers" mostly consisting of toxic unpronounceable poisons. Applying something too fragranced wasn't an option either because it was right next to his eyeball and extremely sensitive and picky nose. No essential oils in this one, uh-uh! With all those requirements in mind, and past knowledge ...

All-Natural Lotion Tutorial

Image
I had so much fun doing this!!! It was a huge success among my siblings who are obsessed with good smelling and feeling lotions. They kept on putting gobs of it on and saying, "it smells like frosting!" Oh, and it did! I felt like I could practically eat it. It also looked a lot like my Grampa's famous mashed potatoes. Did I mention we were eating vegan for a month? And yea, you can't make his recipe without a few sticks of butter so our mouths were watering at the thought. A you can see here, I myself was getting a little to addicted to the scent. But who doesn't want to walk  around smelling like a peppermint candy?!? Excuse the messy hair and unmade bed in the background. But hey, who cares? Nobody's perfect and I DON'T want to be the flawless blogger girl out there! There are only a few simple and basic ingredients. In fact, I use the same ingredients for most of my projects, give or take a few. Beeswax Aloe Coconut Oil Essential Oil...

Naturally Luscious Hair, Skin & Nails in the Winter

Image
So as we all know, winter comes with cold, which means we turn our heaters on. Heaters blast hot, dry air into our houses. This dries our skin and hair out so we get eczema and split ends, which is very unwelcome!!! And, how are we supposed to avoid it? Well, I got some answers. Lots of people slather the lotion and leave-in conditioner on, but I have a different method. BALANCE. Oil Stability in Hair & Skin During the summer, we can't help it if the sweat, swimming and outside adventures result in every or every other day showers. That's not the case in the cold though! If you are the kind of person that avoids going places because of the icy air, and doesn't go trekking in the woods and sledding every single day, this is for you. I do have to admit though, its kind of city style. Even then, if you do decide to go on a cold adventure, you're not sweating! I mean, you end up going inside because you're freezing. In conclusion, the amount of ...

Natural Ways to Fight the Flu

Image
Again!? Yea, again. I don't know about you, but right now our family is coming down with colds/flu. Sometimes it just stays nice and mild and won't spread too bad. But other times, it practically explodes it contagious self across your entire city. Maybe even a few states? Yea, one time we got sick at the same time as our cousins in Germany and a few states across the country. Weird. Anyways, you want to nip it in the bud. But at times, no matter what you try, the sickness ambushes your body. Their are natural tips and tricks across the web; but what is actually possible? Well, I'm the kind of person that has trouble putting habits into place and keeping them unless there is present the right drive. So what have I done? I'm going to explain each thing scientifically so it makes sense and doesn't just seem like an old wives' tale. Chicken Soup??? Supposedly, chicken broth or soup is supposed to help.  IT ACTUALLY DOES!!! But you have to do it rig...

Frankincense: The Oil Adored For Centuries

Image
I was so astonished when I found this out I was practically exploding. Frankincense oil, who would have known? The magi, of course. Good ole' wise guys. Anyway, it being one of these natural ninjas, I could go on and on about it. But, today I'll just focus on the miracles it can preform on your skin. Lots of people complain about spots, scars and unearthly discolorations. Now, I personally think a lot of ladies think they are WAY uglier than what is even close realistic. I haven't seen too many truly ugly women, and even then they had some beauty. So ya'll can just chill.  It is a fact though, and I feel this myself, that when your skin doesn't want to stay one color (especially your face), it can be beyond annoying. So, I found this magical oil. I personally don't own it yet, but the things I've heard about it are shocking. Dr. Axe said that I test was done with frankincense oil, and that the people who did it said their faces cleared up 70 freakin...

Chic Gift Idea: Epsom Salt Scrub

Image
With only a few short weeks until Christmas, everybody is scrambling to find gifts for their 3rd cousin twice removed, great aunt Mabel that's related to who knows who, and your half-grandma who lives up in Canada! I've been just looking for any ideas we have the supplies for, and making them. Then they get thrown into the family gift pile, which we distribute among family members and friends later. My most recent project was an epsom salt scrub. I personally am not a fan of scrubs for my skin, because it's already sensitive and scouring the top layer of won't help much. But, its been a huge hit among others that I've made it for. It's also fun to make. Bonus! Now, epsom salt is known to have its medicinal, natural remedy properties, so I did some research. Really Cool Thing #1: Epidermis Absorption Instead of having to digest, take in a pill, or work some fancy procedure to get magnesium sulfate to penetrate into your body, you just absorb it throug...

Ooh! Homemade Chapstick?

Image
Yes. It was really fun and gave me quite a fulfilling feeling. It's a bit like making my  lavender solid perfume , but I noticed the recipe had more oil than beeswax. Basically, vice versa. This is based off of a recipe by Martha Stewart, but I changed it up quite a bit like I always do. I started off with the containers. Now I know its easier to get the pots, but I really think the chapstick containers are the best for chapstick. I made one in a pot, but it ended up being kind of hard to apply. But, it's a good way to use your leftover. Then you can get multicolored! They are made for it. It is their destiny. At first, I was going to get some that had colorful tops and came with stickers, when my mother full of wisdom told me that not many adults would enjoy receiving a rainbow-multicolored chapstick that looked like it came from a 4-year old's purse. So, I went with clear. That way, I can decorate it however I want or just leave it! About the color... The red o...
