I love these, but it makes me realize that any country that is painting food on their nails must be pretty rich. They are pretty cute though, and I have attempted at the watermelon ones on a simpler scale!
Dude, seriously. More like your cooking life, though. I had been afraid to make fried chicken for sooo long because every time I did it, it did not work out! Me and my mom tried it over and over but we would burn it, the flour wouldn't stick, we'd forget the salt or not know what seasonings to use, and man would it be disappointing! But really, who wants to spend 2 hours making something wrong, and resulting in an over-greasy, burnt, not-worth-the-unhealthy ingredients dinner?!? We had even tried the dried mashed potatoes thing, but why do we have to go through such an effort and use strange ingredients just to make something so many people can do in a heartbeat? Why couldn't we just make normally like those awesome Mississippi cooks? I found ALL THE ANSWERS in this one video, made by a blogger/youtuber lady. Her trick is double dipping, lots of hot sauce and an unearthly amount of spices that give it perfect flavor. I was so happy and I couldn't even believe...
I couldn't stop eating this, so I quickly portioned out pieces to send home with my guests after we all ate our share. Of course, they loved it. Why? It wasn't so sweet that a vegan could only eat one square inch before launching into a diabetic coma! Originally, the recipe was only lightly dusted with a fraction of a teaspoon of powdered sugar. And you know, that ain't gonna cut it for me! I knew it wouldn't be as tasty without some other flavor and texture to top it with. Therefore, I made a streusel. It was different from ones I had made before, because you used melted butter and then mixed it in the already-warm pan that you heated it with. What? Tried it anyway. Then, I had the splendid realization that it would fit perfectly with my bundt cake because it couldn't melt anymore that it already was in the oven. Wait, don't you normally bake streusel? Ok, this is the deal. When you make a bundt cake, you flip it over , so whatever is on the bottom is a...
During my several visits to The Farm, I've found out the nature is not just beautiful, it's breathtaking. So I had the urge to take pictures of it. However, I have a really crappy point-and-shoot camera that aggravates me beyond belief. I'm hoping to get a much nicer one soon. I know what pictures can look like, and being perfectionistic, when I can't get a picture that a 600 dollar camera would take with 30 dollar one, I get frustrated. I guess I'm overestimating what my poor decade-old camera can do.
Recently, I went to a class on how to make salsa. It was especially interesting because the teacher owned a Latin American restaurant! I was expecting it to be more of a gushy, blended salsa but it was entirely different; more like a pico de gallo dip. She had us hand chop everything itty-bitty pieces and mix together. Unfortunately, she left the onions at home in a hurry, so we didn't have those. These were the ingredients: 2 roma tomatoes, chopped small but not tiny 2 cloves of garlic, minced Cilantro, minced Hot pepper, as much and big as you want Salt and pepper to taste Fresh squeezed lime to taste Red onion chopped small We mixed these altogether and ate with chips. It was amazing! I would suggest draining the liquid out the bottom if you are eating in the car like I was. You can imagine what happened! In all, it made about 8 ounces and our teacher provided cute little container to carry it home in. This is what it looked like but I mashed mine up a little and ...
