The Answer to Remembering all Those Prayer Requests

The Prayer Wall It used to be that when I sat down during my quiet time, I could literally never remember everything I was praying for. My other issue was that I'm terrible at memorizing stuff, so all the prayer requests I got pretty much went out the back window of my brain after the conversation was over.
There was a need for a real SOLUTION.

My solution was the prayer wall. It's a place were I put pictures, prayer requests, and those flyer people make with the stuff they need prayer for. It really helps and I love it because every time I come in my room it's like a little reminder goes off in my mind to pray!


After I had my prayer wall for a while, I started brainstorming how we could get the family's prayers all in one place that would be cute and match the rest of the house. Naturally Luscious Hair, Skin & Nails in the Winter

So as we all know, winter comes with cold, which means we turn our heaters on. Heaters blast hot, dry air into our houses. This dries our skin and hair out so we get eczema and split ends, which is very unwelcome!!!
And, how are we supposed to avoid it? Well, I got some answers. Lots of people slather the lotion and leave-in conditioner on, but I have a different method. BALANCE.



Oil Stability in Hair & Skin During the summer, we can't help it if the sweat, swimming and outside adventures result in every or every other day showers. That's not the case in the cold though! If you are the kind of person that avoids going places because of the icy air, and doesn't go trekking in the woods and sledding every single day, this is for you. Downtown Chicago Pictures+Touring German Cousin Around...

Just recently, my cousin came to stay with us from Germany and it's been a blast! We've done a lot of photography together but I think the best so far is from downtown Chicago. Makeup and Hair in the 1800's

Hey guys, I haven't been blogging as much since Summer came on! I'd much rather be outside swimming, walking, and getting sun because I'm completely famished of it from the winter. I literally could move to California because all this depressing cold 6 months of the year in the Midwest just isn't working for me!

Anyways, recently I've been getting really into 18th and 19th century reading. More specifically, authors from that time like Jane Austen, George MacDonald, and Charles Dickens.
Somehow I just cannot ever remember Charles Dickens name when I need to because I read his book David Copperfield and it just mixes me up so bad!

So, after reading all this about the 18 and 1900's, I just got really curious about their real life like hygiene, makeup, and hair. You know, like everyday things that you don't hear much about in books and movies because the story os  generally known to be more interesting.

It's Amazing How Easy it is to Make Your Own Perfume!

I said this before in my post about lavender essential oil: I wanted to find a way to make it portable. So I came up with the idea of making solid perfume. I knew it was probably more simple than the ingredients on the ones you buy at the store say. I wanted it to be 100% bad-chemical free. I say "bad-chemical" because actually everything is made out of chemicals so it would be unfair for me to say it needed to be "100% chemical free."
   The recipe I found required almond oil, which I didn't have. However, on more research of carrier oils (which is what almond oil is), I realized there was quite a lot that I could work with.  I do suggest always following a recipe you haven't made yet unless, you have a general knowledge of what you're working with. Thankfully, before I could do any "fail fast"-ing with substitutions, mom came home from a visit to Whole Foods with some almond oil!
